Thankful Thursday.

{seriously, so late.}

last week was rough. Real life rough. 

rough in ways i never thought it would be. 

and rough in ways i was preparing for, for quite some time.

the inside of my head, and heart, are quite jumbled and ... well, roughed up. 

but, despite it all, there was still plenty to be grateful for last week.

there always is. 

1. I am thankful that every time someone made the trip to visit J's new home in Kolob, they arrived safely.

2. I am thankful for a good time without the internet. Yes, i still watched gossip girls, but at least I wasn't a facebook whore. {always a plus.}

***

3. I am thankful for good books. I'm currently re-reading Eat, Pray, Love. I can't tell you how much I love that book. 

***

4. I am thankful for random texts of love. 

***

5. I am thankful for the prayer, thoughts, and kind words of many of you. I'm not sure to handle life lately, but I can assure you the care I feel from everyone is a majour blessing.

6. I am thankful for cheap paint. J now has a yellow, white, and grey bathroom for less then 15$. 

***

7. I am thankful for fresh air, and the smell of rain.

***

8. I am thankful that J looooooooves his new job. Everyone deserves to be happy with their life's work.

9. I am thankful for Jerry. The man who has made J's mom unbelievably happy, and will continue to do so for the rest of forever come September 14th. 

***

10. I am thankful that J's son was born healthy, that he was able to see him on Friday. It was love at first sight.

1. I am thankful for the opportunities I have had to travel in my lifetime. I have been to so many beautiful places, and have met so many wonderful people.

2. I am thankful for the things I have crossed off my bucket list thus far. I love accomplishing things on there.

3. I am thankful for moments of inspiration.

4. I am thankful for prayer. & how I know that if I take the time to sincerely pray, my day will be just a little bit better. & that little bit has proved to mean all the difference.

5. I am thankful for people who haven't given up hope on me yet. :)

6. I am thankful for the actions my friends have taken in their lives recently. It is so nice to see my friends doing something they've always wanted to do. Taking their lives by the reigns. :)

7. I am thankful for clean laundry, and the fact that it isn't all over my floor anymore.

8. I am thankful for the opportunities I have had in my life to meet so many wonderful people with special needs. If I think back on it, my life has been touched by so many incredible spirits, & their presence has truly taught me a lot. I am so grateful for that.

9. I am thankful for positive change. And for all the change J has been going through lately. He recently switched his job over, found himself a cute little house, and is on his merry way to doing what he loves. Something that is very important to me.

10. I am thankful for well spent time. It makes me so happy, and I really do enjoy being happy. :)

1. I am thankful for foods you haven't had in a long time. They make having them again so much yummier! Hence, the chocolate milk I enjoyed this morning. :)

3. I am thankful for blue skies. It's one of my all time favourite things about Southern Utah. or Logandale. I still remember right when I got back from over seas; I walked out onto the patio at J's mama's house, and was amazed at how vast and blue the skies were. I love not having buildings obstruct my view. If all else fails in my day, I know I can always count on the blue skies to bring some sunshine.

1. I am thankful for memories of awesome experiences. We can really learn so much from our experiences. They never stop teaching us.

2. I am thankful for people who have shared our Jacob's Scarves video!!! I was SO pleased when it was finally finished and i couldn't contain my excitement to share it! :)

3. I am thankful for organization. It makes me feel 23o4203948230948230 times better!

4. I am thankful for how wonderfully everything is coming together. Business cards, party invites, lawn signs, booths, bumper stickers, t-shirts.. the growth never ends!

5. I am thankful for the moments when we can say "enough is enough" and change up the direction of our lives. I've made a few changes in mine recently and it's already has such a happy effect on my day to day. :)

6. I am thankful for pools!!

7. I am thankful that my sweet bro allows me to use his computer. The speakers and extra large screen really give me such joy. :)

8. I am thankful for KLOVE positive alternative radio station. It's the best, most positive thing of my day!

9. I am thankful healthy food, and for when I made the decision to make a healthy choice. I've got to get better at this... :/ haha

10. I am thankful that everyone knows i love to travel, and that they'll never know when or where I'll run off to next. Keeping life on it's toes baby! :)

2. I am thankful for missionary letters that are filled with hope and the want to do even better.

3. I am thankful for people taking the time out out their days to give me advice, and share with me their kind words.

5. I am thankful for a home that is clean, lovely smelling, and cool. We often forget the great luxury we each have when we compare our blessings to another.

6. I am thankful for the sweet companionship of my doggy mikey. He isn't doing very well, and I am not sure how long we will have him with us.. I love him though, and he certainly has been a wonderful pup to grow up with.

7. I am thankful for memories. I am going to start going through all of my photo's here soon, and I'm excited to sort of relieve the life that's led me here.

8. I am thankful for showers and tooth brushes.

9. I am thankful for my sweet Madi friend. She told me the other day that she won't drink soda or do anything that has the potential of getting her addicted. She is terrified of living her life to the demands of things; and that really moved me. I won't forget that.

10. I am thankful for the spirit. And the knowledge that when moving ever closer to the Lord's Will, will provide an even clearer messenger for my life.

1. I am thankful for an awesome fourth of July. Spent with my sweet guy, his family, and two cute little pups. I am certainly proud to be an American. :)

I'm thankful for my boyfriend. Can i be thankful for him a thousand times and more? He has been so supportive and wonderful to me. He makes dreaming big possible. :)

1. I am thankful for moments you can't buy. Last night Jennie and I were headed to the OneplusOne to get vinegar for her awful sun burn.. but we got caught up in a human traffic jam next to the living buddah. While we were waiting for people to part ways, there was a women standing in front of me, who came up to my mid chest. She hadn't seen me yet, and when she turned around I must have freaked the crap out of her! She jumped five feet, screamed a terrified scream, and her hand shot to her face in shock. hahahaha, it was the funniest thing in the whole world. It took everyone around us a bit to figure out what had just happened, but soon everyone around us was doubled over in laughter. Twill be a moment never forgotten.

2. I am thankful for six mangoes, Jenna's ipod, and the sun. For, that is how i spent my day today. In fact the sun has been shining all week and my skin has loved me for it. :)

1. I am thankful for the opportunities to learn and RE-learn lessons. I don't know what I would do without God's constant belief in me.

2. I am thankful for emails from missionaries. I have lost contact with a lot of my dear friends since my move here, but I have been able to email a few. And their letters provide such a hope and love for me. Their letters are my personal treasure.

3. I am thankful for the lesson I am learning that we can choose our emotions in every situation. Sometimes I get so caught up in a moment, and a surge of anger rushes through me.. but I know that if i take a step back I will be able feel a calmness from the spirit, and choose an option that will better the situation. "Never let a problem to be solved, become more important than a person to be loved."

4. I am thankful for all the amenities I have that bring goodness to my life. Films, the internet, books, music, people, etc. My life has been filled  and touched by so much goodness, and each time i take the opportunity to search it out, I am never disappointed.

posted ACTUALLY on a Thursday. Life is good. :) 

1. I am thankful for all the recent grads! They have filled every single one of my news feeds with sappy, but totally wonderful, pictures and comments. It brings me right back to the good ol' days. Would I go back? You bet your bottom dollar. I LOVED high school, and especially senior year. And i miss EVERYONE! But I am so grateful for where life has taken me thus far, and am only getting more excited for the future to come. :) Congrats to the all the Grads out there today. :) 

2. I am thankful for my funny, sweet, wonderful father. I found a birthday card from him and my momma last night, and it made me smile. :) Their words are the greatest. :) 

3.I am thankful for my continuous emails with snarls porter. She is such a ratty girl. In the best way of course. :) 

4. I am thankful for the emails I've gotten this week from my missionary cousins. The Watsons. Zach's was filled with optimism and good words, and Tashi's was a personal one to me with a picture! Man, I miss those two. Especially Tashi and her wonderful life changing hugs. She is light, wouldn't you agree? :) I look up to her SO much!

5. I am so so so thankful for the sixty bones that appeared into my bank account over night. Thank you to my momma!! Now I can feast upon everything and ANYTHING that ISN'T rice. bleh! 

6.I am thankful for good feelings, answered prayers, the scriptures, and constant reminders. I truly do love and appreciate the gospel. And i can't wait to go home and have a bishop, priesthood holders, and a ward family to surround myself with. bring on the callings!!!! 

7. I am thankful for the long cooled down days we've been having. They mean plenty of time to play with Jacob and enjoy his families company. :) 

8. I am thankful that I can see blue skies out today! That means I can lay in the sun again!!! My skin has been aching for its cure! I'm too white for it to officially be summer. :) 

9. I am thankful for all the stinkin cute babies around here. Now if only I could work up the courage and the language, to HOLD one of them. I want to hold a wee little one so bad! Thank goodness for all my pregnant friends! 

10. And, although I am loving the trash out of being here, and each day is new and wonderful... i am SO THANKFUL that as of today, I have LESS than a month!!!! I miss my dear friends,  my awesome family, my handsome boyfriend, his wonderful family, and cheese!! I don't know if anyone will be able to completely understand the joy i will have come July 4th. I LOVE America!!! :)

1. I am thankful for sunshine. It has been raining a lot this week, which is great, but the sunshine makes me an extra happy girl. :) 

2. I am thankful for phone calls from the boyfriend. Even if they are unexpected and while he's ordering In-N-Out without me. :(

3. I am thankful for the will and desire to run. Once I start i can't stop. It feels so good, and I've missed it so much. It's the best outlet. 

4. I am thankful for quiet evenings and days. 

5. I am thankful for having the ensign on my phone.. even if my app is a little temperamental.

6. I am thankful for my mom and her great advice slash willingness to be cool with me. :) 

7. I am thankful for my two roommates that are so kind to let me use their computer when I ask. Since mine broke, I've been a slight leech. :/ haha

8. I am thankful for humidity. I am so not excited for the dry heat of St.George and Logandale. My skin is gonna HATE me. :(

I am thankful for the tremendous support of all my friends and family when it comes to Jacob's Scarves. Every time i get scared of the tasks ahead of me... someone is always there to push me along. I couldn't do it without them. 

I am thankful for food that isn't noodles or rice! in five weeks I will have myself a glorious array of food! 

I am thankful for the power of prayer and scripture. I have needed the strength of the spirit so much lately, and I am so grateful to know that I can have it whenever, and wherever. :)

I am thankful for Thankful Thursdays. They always help me to pause and reflect on all the little beautiful things in my life. :) 

I am thankful for new days & forgiving people. I don't know what I would do if I wasn't able to wake up every morning to a new opportunity to be a little bit better. :)

I am thankful that my super awesome cousin Stu was able to find an equally awesome wife. I am sure there wedding day was filled with so much laughter. :)

1. Im thankful that I just made the best purchase of all time today. A lounge chair! Now I can get some sun, hang out with Jacob, and be outside for more then just going to the store. :) hooray!

 2. I am thankful that my roommate lets me use her face wash. I've never been a face wash kinda person, but the weather here is making my skin so unhappy! Her stuff reverses that, and makes it soft too!

 3. I am thankful for Jeremy's family. I can't tell you how incredibly welcoming, kind, and funny they are. And his mother is so sweet to me. I can't wait to go home and spend the summer with them :)

1. i am thankful for being able to "plug in" a lot less this week. Being here and not there is VERY enjoyable.

I am thankful for the ability we had to attend church this past weekend. It was so nice to be a part of a ward, among the saints, and near the priesthood. If there is anything I miss more then sub sandwiches, its the priesthood.

1. i am thankful that today we were able to go out into the city and meet up with all the other ILP groups for a BOND photo. It is always so nice talking and seeing other people. We were also able to go out and eat with one of the groups. That was really nice and needed I think. 
2. i am thankful for great weather. I love walking out of a store and instantly feeling comfortable outside. I wish I could sleep on a roof or something. me love the warmth!
3. i am thankful for the app Tango so i can communicate better with me madre.
4. i am thankful for the guy we say at karaoke the other night dressed as a women, he made the night all the more perfect. 
5. i am thankful for the eye of the storm 
6. i am thankful for the priesthood, and priesthood blessings.
7. i am thankful for wonderful people in my life. i have been so fortunate to meet some spectacular people.
8. i am thankful for oatmeal. i put just enough water in it to make it sticky and then roll it into a ball. I think it's yummier that way.

10. i am thankful for the opportunities i have had in my life to travel. But I'm so tired of explaining why i love it, to myself, or to others. I just do. I really really do. Traveling, being places I have never been, meeting new people, trying new foods or ways of life.. it all just makes sense to me. I hope that i will be able to travel for the rest of my life.

yesterday i layed down the letter of the law with my girls. I held a meeting and didn't allow anyone to talk as I went over new changes, and old rules. I wasn't sure how they'd take it, especially when i had to point out individual problems... but it actually went very very well. I was pleased. I love when people receive my words well.

I had a long talk with J the other day about goals. It got pretty heated at one point, and we were both super frustrated. But neither of us went off the rack, and we were able to figure out what the real issue was. It was so nice to know that fights just aren't our thing. He also apologized to me for something he had said, and that made me instantly cool down. I love someone who can admit when they were wrong and be sincerely sorry for it. Even if it was hard for him ;)

The weather has been so lovely. We can sleep with our A/C 's on and be totally comfortable now. It's splendid. 

***

A group of ILP teachers from another school came to visit us yesterday, and it was so nice to see some new faces around here.

I get to make decorations galore for an Easter party next month, and I'm excited!

We got another new student yesterday. Jennie took one look at him and named him Jeremy. After I saw him for the first time, I fell in LOVE! He is the cutest little boy!! & so so sweet. :) the name fits. :)

free flights. thanks to my mom's awesome job Handsome has potential of coming to see me in China!!! & if that doesn't work out, we will still be able to go on weekend trips all over the place, just for fun!
