Happy Birthday Shelb :)
Today is my best friends 20th birthday.
We've been best friends since 7th grade, that's going on 9 years now..
best, craziest, profoundest, oddest, yummiest, inspiring 9 years of my life.
this beautiful girl has a heart of Jade.
{ I say Jade because it's the most rare and beautiful stone. Worth over 3 million..though you can't put a price on this gal.}
Shelb is truly rare and beautiful.
she is strong.
she is kind.
she is brave.
she is funny.
she is stylish.
she is a hard worker.
she is talented.
& she's still my best friend.
I am so grateful to have met a snips like her.
Here's to another 9 years of great memories, my dear friend.
Hope you feel better soon, and your twentieth year brings you nothing but life's truest miracles.
i love you.

Jer Bear ;)
To my dear Jeremy,
You turned the ripe age of twenty four last Saturday, and unfortunately I wasn't able to spend it with you. Trust me, had I been there celebration would have been non-stop. ;) You know, I never expected love to come in a package like you. But yet, even as I am still unwrapping, I can't help but fall even more so in love with you. :)
Jeremy, I have never met a man who clings to his goals and beliefs as strongly as you do. I have never met a man who loves his family so deeply, as you do. I have never met a man who works as hard as you do, and likes it. And I have never met a man who has so easily persuaded me to see my world in a different way. I've never met a man quite like you before, and this must be why I am transfixed by all that you are. I hope you know you are great.
My dear, you drive me crazy. In such a beautiful wonderful way. :) You challenge me to test my thoughts, and talents. And you are the most stubborn head strong person I've ever met. Although i detest this sometimes.. I love you even more for it. :) I hope you never give in for what you know to be right. Without you, I'd still be wandering aimlessly. Pretending I know what I am doing, and still thinking I'm pretty cool for doing so. Like so many others, your love has brought me to the basics of life. And I know that that is all that matters. Thank you.
I may not say it enough, but I am SO proud of you. The strength, dignity, humility, and love that you have amazes me everyday. If I had to live a day in your shoes, I know I wouldn't be able to handle it with even half the class you have. And on top of everything, you still remain true to yourself, and your word. I love you so much for that. :) Your coming into my life, has brought me so much good. You have given me opportunities to expand myself, test who I am, reach farther then I thought, love deeply without knowing how, & you have helped me step out of every dark corners I placed myself in. You were never afraid, and you were always patient. In so many ways, you have saved me. I know that knowing your love has been a direct gift from God. Thank you Jeremy, for everything.
One of my all time favourite quote has always been:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envey, it does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered. It keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. Love never fails."
I want you to know that it makes me so happy to know that you exemplify this more then any person I have ever met. I love you babe. And though I wasn't able to be there for your birthday.. I hope we can celebrate many more together in the future. :) Happy Birthday my Princess, I cannot wait to kiss you in two months. :) Until then, Stay Classy. ;)
Love,
Kirsten

Fat Baby
To my dearest friend and greatest treasure,
As I type this you are hopefully sleeping soundly at your last night in the MTC, ever. Tomorrow you fly out to Africa, and begin a two year journey of a lifetime, and then some. You also turned the ripe old age of twenty last Saturday and I wasn't able to celebrate it with you. I'm glad though, because I wouldn't want you anywhere else but right where you are.
Trev, I am so unbelievably proud of you. You conquered every single obstacle life threw at you, and remained true to your personal goal. You never let a nay sayer sway you, and you never lost total sight of who you are, and what you are capable of. You passed so many milestones, and broke so many limits..I'm sure God is already planning a whirl wind of experiences for you. If there is any missionary out there who can handle it, it's you my brother. And I know you know it, and I know everyone else knows it. You are the strength so many of us needed. And I am sure the strength so many of those Africans need. I know you will move mountains.
Honestly, there is nothing better then getting a letter from trevasaurus. You bare your testimony of the scriptures and of the living God so honestly and profoundly; A person must be thought a fool to not believe a word you say. You haven't lost sight of the true Trev, and you so earnestly question how my life is going spiritually and otherwise. I love them! I love to hear from you! And I love to laugh out loud each time i read what you have to say. Though you should know these laughs are soon followed by tears. Tears of pride and tears from missing such a dear friend. I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
Fat baby, I hope your twentieth year brings you so many incredible experiences and changes your life for the better. I hope you will be able to see the hand of God in all of your endeavours, and feel the unlimited love flowing to you from each of your friends and family. It will always be there. I also hope that in these short two years we are apart, you never once question my thoughts and love for you. And I hope you always repeat to yourself, "I am not a missionary douche" for the sake of Charlie and I. ;)
In your twentieth year, I hope you are brave. I hope you are still. I hope you are happy. I hope you are fulfilled. I hope you know peace. and I hope you never stop laughing. ( if you find yourself with a day that just can't bring laughter.. just think of your mom doing her "special" dance and yelling, "how do you like me know?!!?" haha :) Never loose sight of your goals Trevster. And never forget you are loved.
Happy Birthday to my best friend, my brother, and my hero. I'll love you forever boy.
Love,
Kirst.

Dear Courtney,
I missed your birthday. That makes me a totally awful, no good, dirty rotten, friend. My sincere apologize! But perhaps I can slightly make it up to you by writing you a letter? I sure hope so. :)
Court, you are such a magnificent human being. I know this because there is not another soul like you. You are one hundred percent, uniquely Courtney. You are a kind, beautiful, and passionate women. And you have taught me so much about the beauty of life, and the beauty of love.
If there is one thing that I am most grateful for, it is your passion for love. I know how it has troubled you, and I know how often people tell you to give up and turn away, but you never have. And I would place a bet of a million years that you never will. You will NEVER give up on what you believe in most. No matter how scary, or hurtful the end may be. This gift you have is so powerful Courts, and it is so moving. But most of all, it is so very forgotten.
I know but one person who still believes in the ultimate untainted power of love. One person who has embraced the foolishness it gives and the cruelty it posses. One person, who isn't afraid to lose everything, if it means perhaps gaining more then she could imagine. Courtney, your unfailing belief in love keeps so many of us alive, and it has pulled so many people from the depths of ordinary life. Just being near you is a breath of fresh air that cannot be over looked. When I am around you, I have no choice but to love life, and to love love. All this, because you are not afraid.
I never could adequately express the gratitude I have for the opportunity to have been your friend. To BE one of your best friends. My life was forever changed the moment we met, and I would not give it back for the life of me. You mean so much to me Courtney, and I owe so much to you. Thank you for always being there, for always talking with me, for giving me advice, for making me laugh my eyeballs out. I swear to you there isn't a more hilarious person on this earth. You are sunshine my love, and I hope I can forever return the kind of true friendship you have shared with me.
Don't forget my personal website if you ever need me, I am sure you know it. ;)
love your friend,
me.
If allowed, i fully intended on showering this post with unlimited embarrassing pictures of Snorts. But unfortunately there seems to be a bug with blogger here. so until next year!

if i never knew you.
If I never knew you
If i never felt this love
I would have no inkling of
How precious life can be
And if I never held you
I would never have a clue
How at last I'd find in you
The missing part of me.
In this world so full of fear
Full of rage and lies
I can see the truth so clear
In your eyes
So dry your eyes
And I'm so grateful to you
I'd hve lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you
If I never knew you
I'd be safe but half as real
Never knowing I could feel
A love so strong and true
I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you
I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong
all they'd leave us were these wispers in the night
But still my heart is saying we were right
Oh if I never knew you
There's no moment I regret
If i never felt this love
Since the moment that we met
I would have no inkling of
If our time has gone too fast
How precious life can be...
I've lived at last...
I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I thought our love wuold be so beautiful
We'd turn the darkness into light
And still my heart is saying we were right
we were right
And if I never knew you
If I never knew you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Empty as the sky
Never knowing why
Lost forever
If I never knew you
my dear friend wrote me a letter today.
he never ceases to heal me.
I love you Elder Webster. I miss you.

Alice
Curly Que bought me a gift-a-roo today. She's real nice.
It is a magnent that says,
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things."
" I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen.
" When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." -Lewis Carroll
a little inspiration goes a long way.
Thanks Courts. :)

What do my dreams mean?
So, I had this really odd dream and I'm wondering if its real and if God some how is trying to slip me subliminal messages. I just wish someone could help me out and tell me what they think and how I can make sense of this weird/crazy dream.Let me set the scene for you. I'm walking around the college campus looking for a date for my birthday and I can't find one. I first look in the gym because I just LOVE LOVE LOVE men with giant biceps and wonderful glutes. No such luck there, there weren't any men with such qualities.I saw alot of people mind you. but they were all either in need of slimming down or bulking up. I can remember thinking "how weird is that? Shouldn't this place be packed full of hunky men all the time?" So, next on my list was a man who can effectively express himself.
Now this is odd to me. I never thought I would be attracted to someone who can communicate. Most of the time in my dating relationships I notice how they suck as a provider and won't possibly be able to feed my addiction to chocolate, Martenellies sparkling cider and need to spend money on random people I meet. My reaction has always been to just go for men that satisfy my eyes. I would never stay very long in a relationship with them because I sub-conscientiously know that they just aren't good enough for me. At any-rate, I am attracted to men that communicate and never thought about it before because I'm shallow, and I digress from my dream.
My next area for looking as I said was the English dept. I'm running up the stairs to get there and I meet this small very quirky young man who projects an image or better said, an ora of a very old and wise grandpa. I speed up my pace to pass him and not engage in any conversation. he's short gosh! I can't stand short people talking to me. I just want to step on them for being unlucky not to be at my stature. But in trying to evade him I find my self pulled into his direction as if by some inability to walk in any other direction. it was the strangest thing. I just couldn't get friction under my feet to be able to move anywhere but in his direction. He told me that he knew who I was and what I was looking for. what scared me wasn't that he said it. but rather how he said it. his voice was of an old, very decrepit man. He back his story by telling me a few personal things about me that struck me to my very core and made me shutter inside. I almost felt violated as if I had no privacy at this point, I wondered if I had ever had privacy to begin with. He continued to tell me that what I was looking for was in the fine arts building. (I should have guessed.) His ears fluttered and he flew away. yeah literally flew. The wind generated from his ears almost knocked me on my bum.
As I stood in awe for a few more seconds I realized that he might know me really well but its my own decision and he can't decide for me. I have to make this decision on my own. I thought hard about all the qualities I really wanted to have in a man. what would make a good husband what would make a good friend, more importantly what would make a good lover. I might have lingered a little longer then I needed to on that part. I realized that what I need is a nerd. a science nerd not a computer nerd. they maybe rich but their idea of flirting would be messages of binary encoded messages. that's not sexy. or practical computer jokes. once again not sexy. or what pisses me off the most. As we make love someone screaming out my name in binary. Can you imagine? " 10100001101010101011110000010101010000000001!!" horrible. so science nerd for sure. ...... ahhhh I've lost all motivation to write this and I have to go continue on with my life now. long story short. the little guy found me in the science lab and told me to check out this guy in yellow, and then he handed the gorgeous man a seal of approval!!! Oh how happy I am now that I know this yellow man has the kids seal of approval. If I could just find out who he is!!!!! please help.

Madi's Three Steps.
1. No talking about yourself.
2. atleast ten honest compliments a day to different people.
3. If there is trash talk, change it. If there is a depressing song, switch it. If there are thoughts in your head that aren't right, rethink it.

because one day you might have a roommate that might listen to you yell and scream,
about stupid boys.
and just her listening makes everything that much better.

i wrote this two years ago.
its a moment i won't forget.
what does one think about when listening to three handsome friends play music that plays spirit into every chord, word, and rest? I'll tell you, for who better to tell this story than one who just left this heaven?
You think of life. You see things that yes, you've seen before. You hear things that you've heard before. You feel, and twist your heart into a rapture of feeling. Some which is good. and even some which most would wish would stay away. When you have the opportunity to listen to music, see a new colour, meet a new person, or generally take a deep breath in life. Your life changes. Perhaps for a moment. Perhaps for longer. This choice however, is none others but yours. Something we all to quickly forget. That i forget.
As i listened to the words of "come thou fount." pouring through a voice of quite possibly an angel, things go silent, as contradictory as that sounds. Often times, "the world" drowns out true feelings. like love. and hope. and faith. and when this happens, it doesn't happen soundly. Its loud. obnoxious. and I hate it. But then once in a blue moon, if your heart is open and you allow your spirit to search beyond yourself, you find something that drowns THAT out. It quieter. stiller. Sharper. Powerful. and profoundly, dream like. How many a times do you think we've experienced times like this? and how often do you think we forget it?
I have to ask the question of whether or not the word "remember" is a positive or negative word. I see it both ways. I see it as negative, for the simple fact that because we forget, we must remember. So if we never forget, than we never have to remember. But than again, if it is humanly impossible to remember every moment that we wish, than i shall bow down to remembrance because it is what keeps me going up. right?
This probably is very irrelevant to what i truly wish to talk about. But i have no straight line in which my thoughts travel, so things come out in a jumble of nugatory words. My main frustration is the fact that I can't breath. Not physically, though sometimes I think that would be a lot easier to deal with, but metaphorical. and yes Mrs. Prevous. I DID use metaphorical in a metaphorical statement. eat me. Anyway, like I said, I feel like I can't breath. I have so many, (I should say "we" because I'm sure we're all somewhat decision challenged right now), decisions to figure out. From the most minimal to the most maximum. Like i said, I can't breathe. I don't know who I am. Where I'm going. Who I've been. What i want to become. What my passions are. What I live for. Who I really love. IF i really love. Nothing. Lifes mysteries are HUGE.
and what about the glimpses. To bring my sideways words together, and try and connect this massive querulous text... My main beef with life is what I love most about it. The moments where for a second you become "tranced" &, life makes sense. Like my experience earlier. I LIVE for times like that. I crave them. but the follow up of them drive me mad. How could I experience such a profound instance, and walk out of the room thinking nothing but what I shall eat when I get home? Where is my soul. and why is it hiding? or perhaps, a better question, is why am i not trying harder to listen to it? and why is God showing me things, and not letting me grasp them fully? and KEEP them? How many more heart conversions must I have till I choose to finally see my path? Its no lie that the mixed messages coming from all eras, and areas of my world aren't helping either. Who and what am I to believe, if ten people i love give me ten different answers they "know" are right? I know i harbour useless questions to you, that pose no interest, or are overly dazed views. But these are the kind of things that have become stitching's to my soul. If I don't give them daylight, then I wither away like the women who gets married before she knows who she is. or the man that serves a mission because "it'll make him look good." or the boy with a dream to be an astronaut but becomes a grocery store manager because his mother didn't believe in him. I DON'T WANT TO BE THESE PEOPLE. I want to know who i am. I want to serve the world. and my lord. I want to die with a difference made. and i believe that if i don't get answers to these seemingly ludicrous questions, i will not have ever truly lived. You know, C.S Lewis once said, "You do not have a spirit. you are a spirit. you have a body." In one short phrase he summed up an answer to my pains, deriving from the world. He believes, or rather I believe, what he believes. I know I am a spirit. Not that I have one. And that is how I know, I am drowning. Shake your head at my "immaturity" but I know something deeper is speaking to me. and currently, I'm just frustrated that I can't hear it.
