Dear Santa, the man full of Christmas cheer,
I'm finding I have a new wish list this year.
I'm not asking for clothes or books or a toy,
This year I am asking for a unique kind of joy.
One that doesn't come wrapped up with a bow,
One that you can't buy or order or sew.
I'm asking for peace and content in my heart,
I'm asking for patience and for a fresh start.
I'm asking for love, both to give and to take,
I'm asking for laughter and memories to make.
I hope I'm not pushing or toeing the line,
I just want some happiness this Christmastime.
Dear Santa, I hope you'll know just what to do.
Please, dear Santa, I am counting on you.
Love,
Kelsey
and, now Kiri too.
My dear friend wrote this poem recently. Her and I share a brain. which means I love this, and back it up, 100%.
