question of the day: DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE? Often times when I ask this question i get answers back like, "Yeah, I sure do! I'm a happy go lucky type girl, with a bright future, who hopes to be a fantastic mother one day!" or, "No, I don't because what I like changes all the time." But really, these answers don't answer my question. I want to know WHO YOU ARE. I don't want to know who you THINK you are. Its a much deeper question than what I think most people look at. Honestly, I think trying to figure out who you are, by the worlds definition doesn't really matter. To me, its just a long waste of time. Now I'm not saying its dumb to know what you like. but I am saying its dumb to say you know what you like. Because the only thing your doing is limiting your possibilities. If you start defining yourself by things you like, or don't like, or whatever. You get stuck in the land of "nobody really cares." Atleast thats the way I feel. For example, you know that classic game of "20 questions" where you meet someone, and in order to try and get to know each other you ask all these random questions like "dogs or cats?" or "whats your favourite book" Well to be honest, I could care less if you want to be a cat. What I really want to know, is what you stand for. what you believe in. or, in other words, who you are. Again, don't take "stand for, and believe in." the same way you took my first question. they aren't light questions. They ARE the most important things to know. Because if you don't know the answer to those, then you don't know the answer to yourself. Hence the question: DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Now, finding these answers, I've come to realize can be tricky. Sometimes You'll think you've finally answered them, but come to find out, you never really did.. or sometimes, you WILL find the true answers for yourself, ..but than one day, you'll realize you forgot them... So not only is it important to know these answers, but its also important to keep knowing them. and by that I mean, to grow in them.
Basically what I want to say tonight is: try a little harder.
